The Associate of Arts in Teaching is intended for students who are seeking teaching paraprofessional certification or who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Education and obtain licensure. The A.A.T. provides the foundational knowledge necessary to work with children in grades kindergarten through sixth. This degree is transferable to any public four-year institution in the state of Arkansas and includes the required, 35-hour state minimum general education core.

NOTE: Completing the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree at Southeast Arkansas College does not guarantee admission to teacher education programs at four-year institutions. Students who plan on transferring should contact the transfer institution in advance regarding degree and admission requirements.
