CHEM 1444 - General Chemistry II Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 2 Prerequisite(s): CHEM 1434 - General Chemistry I with a grade of "C" or better in the course or departmental consent This lecture-laboratory course is a continuation of CHEM 1434 - General Chemistry I . Topics covered include intermolecular forces (liquids and solids), solutions and colligative properties, reaction mechanisms and rates, equilibrium, acids and bases, spontaneity and thermodynamics, as well as acid-base and solubility equilibria. The laboratory portion of the course is designed to reinforce concepts from lecture as well as to introduce students to a variety of techniques. Offered in fall, spring, and summer ACTS Equivalent Course Number = CHEM1424 Note: This course assumes a solid working knowledge of algebra, including exponentials and logarithms.
