CRIM 1313 - Introduction to Criminal Justice

Prerequisite(s): COMP 1123 - Introduction to Computers  with a "C" or better and READ 1213 - Developmental Reading  with a "C" or better or test score exemption
This course covers the history, development, philosophy, functions, current operations, and future trends of the criminal justice system in a democratic society. Emphasis will be placed on contemporary problems in the definition of law, the enforcement of law, strategies of policing, judicial systems, sentencing strategies, and correctional practices.
