NURS 1724 - Medical Surgical Nursing I

This course is a didactic and clinical course that builds on NURS 1704  which focus on the client experiencing a wide range of acute and chronic alteration in health. Health promotion strategies and health care prinicples are examined with emphasis on surgical/perioperative care,fluid and elctrolyte imbalance, acid base imbalance, sensory, oxygenation, and ventilation, tissue perfusion, digestive function and immunologic funtion. Emphasis is placed on utilizing the nursing process, simulation, identifying opportunites for team collaboration, and meeting individual needs of clients. Offered in the Spring Only A grade of “C” or better is required for passing.
