NURS 2217 - Nursing Process II

Prerequisite(s): NURS 2114 - Nursing Process I ; NURS 2122 - Nursing Practicum I  with a grade of “C” or better.
Corequisite(s): NURS 2224 - Nursing Practicum II  
This course utilizes an integrated approach to further emphasize the registered nurse skills, knowledge, and behaviors. Evidenced based client centered care using the nursing process is stressed in assisting clients throughout the lifespan. Holism and human needs, growth and development, communications, safety, stress and adaptation, health/illness concepts, and role identification are incorporated as the nurse assists clients to adapt. Nursing care of adult and geriatric clients with chronic health disorders and specific disorders related to children and women of childbearing age are covered. Disturbances in specific psychological disorders throughout the lifespan are explored. Offered in fall only A grade of “C” or better is required for passing. The course is offered online for students accepted into the Online RN program option.
