EDUC 1013 - Introduction to Early Childhood Education

Credit Hours: 3 Lecture Hours: 3
This course provides an overview of the philosophy, educational theories, and historical development of formalized early childhood education. The student will become familiar with theories which early childhood education is based upon and learn how to develop an effective program designed uniquely for children birth to five. The student will also obtain knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to the care and education of young children. The course is based upon guidelines established by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition. Offered in fall and spring only
